I am a painter who is inspired by beauty and storytelling. I imagine scenes happening within my art and hope for viewers to create their own when seeing my pieces. My work typically contains animals and nature, which are wonderful subjects to depict, as they can become characters in the story.

Each painting begins with me envisioning a scene taking place. Once an idea is formed, I bring the idea forth with a sketch. I begin with thin layers of gouache and acrylic paints, focusing on blocking in colors. I begin as simply as possible, separating my shadows, mid-tones, and lights. My paintings are focused on realism, yet the pigments used are vivid and not grounded in reality. Choosing obscure colors adds another element to the story, which I hope inspires my viewers to create stories of their own.
